About the Course

Course Details

This course blends EMDR with Art Therapy to deepen interventions and client outcomes. Small group format (max 10) for interactive learning.

Ideal for EMDR therapists, art therapists, and practitioners interested in integrative methods. Led by Lee Anna Simmons (EMDR Europe accredited Consultant, HCPC registered Art Psychotherapist).

Includes foundational concepts: relaxation, resourcing, bilateral stimulation with art, Flash/Blink technique, and walking methods. Covers history taking, boundaries, and ethical discussions.

This course does not qualify you as an EMDR or Art Therapist but offers ethical applications of integrated techniques.

An in-person EMDR & Art Therapy course in Greenwich, London on September 5th & 6th, 2025. Limited to 10 participants per day, this hands-on experience offers deep learning and practical applications. This will be at the long standing base of Social Art Therapy, at the Education Space, Thames-Side Studios, SE15 5NR and The Reach Climbing Wall - Unit 6, Mellish Industrial Estate, Harrington Way, London SE18 5NR

EMDR’s 8-phase protocol is explored through an art lens, including interweaves, vicarious trauma, and therapist self-care.

Lee Simmons

Lee is an EMDR Europe Accredited Consultant working with adults and children, HCPC registered Art Psychotherapist and qualified climbing instructor, with a long-standing independent art practice.

Vickie Le Sache

Vickie has experience working as a psychological therapist in adult forensic secure units and prisons (London)... she manages the art psychotherapy department, incorporating EMDR into her programmes. HCPC registered, member of EMDR Association UK.

Sophia Hafslund

Sophia is a drama therapist and EMDR therapist with NHS and educational experience. Member of Badth, EMDR Association UK, and HCPC registered.

Chloé Smith

Chloé is an Art Psychotherapist and EMDR Therapist working in a medium-secure forensic unit. Member of EMDR Association UK and HCPC registered.

Ina Havaraj

Ina is a trainee psychologist and international mountain guide, fluent in three languages, with deep understanding of EMDR & Art Therapy and the therapeutic power of walking in nature.

Stephanie Knibbe

Stephanie Knibbe is a yogi with advanced breath work, photographer and band manager. On leaving the Vortex Jazz Club which she managed, and on her return to France, she was described as sorely missed and ‘a highly effective organizing wheel on the London Jazz scene for the past five years’, by London Jazz News. 

Toby Tiger

Toby Tiger is an Albanian village dog turned adventure pup / therapy dog who has supported every SA&T course since 2022, with perfectly timed cameos. He also supported online and in-person therapy sessions including climbing therapy when the location permits and there are no dog allergies. One client had a fear of dogs, which we cured (using EMDR) as a priority and he then joined the sessions, with a positive impact. In therapy reviews Toby has on more than one occasion, received top place in client reviews.
